*Your students brought home their spelling test today - please make sure to review it with them and help them correct the words that they missed. It is very important that they study their words every night.

Math
This past week, students have been working hard on identifying, counting and writing their numbers to 120. We have learned to count by 1's, 5's and 10's! Students got a new name tag on their desk, which now has a hundreds chart - they love it because they can always refer to it and check their work. We will continue to work on place value and finding patterns when counting.

Report Card Envelopes
If your student has not yet returned their signed report card envelope, please send it in as soon as possible. We have to use them for the 2nd Trimester report cards! Thank you!

Scholastic Books!
I have created a link on my blog to Scholastic book orders! If you are interested in ordering any books for friends, relatives, or for your student, feel free to place an order online and use the code - LVB2T. When you order online, you can shop all Book Club flyers, enter your online orders, and pay with a credit or debit card. Every time you place your order online, you earn a FREE Book Pick and I earn a $3 coupon for our classroom! I will be receiving flyers that I will send home within the next few weeks if you don't want to do it online. If you have an questions please let me know!

Reminders/Announcements
  • Box Tops - Please continue to turn in any box tops that you have at home. This is a wonderful fundraiser that helps raise money for our school. Feel free to ask aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, and neighbors! :) Classrooms with the most box tops will win a classroom party!
  • Please send a note if your child will be picked up or taking another bus home.
  • If you have any questions - please feel free to email me at alibeseth@ccsd66.org
  • Please continue to practice sight words at home. Making flash cards is a great idea and allows for fun games, like memory!
  • It's that time of year! Please make sure you are sending your student to school with a hat, gloves, and scarves! If the temperature is above 30 degrees, the kids will go outside for recess and I would hate for them to freeze. :)

I Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
