Math
Students learned how to compare numbers using their 120 chart. We focused on finding numbers that are 1 more or 1 less as well as 10 more or 10 less. Students also reviewed greater than, less than, and equal to. Please continue to practice fast facts at home!

Valentine's Day
Our Valentines Day party will be on Thursday, February 12th from 2:00 - 3:00pm. The students will pass out their valentines before the party. Please DO NOT address the valentines, just have your child sign his/her name. This makes passing them out much easier. There are currently 21 students in the classroom (12 girls & 9 boys).
Thank you!

Field Trip
On Thursday, February 26, all first grade classrooms will be going on a field trip to the Rialto Square Theater in Joliet to see the play, “Rainbow Fish.” The bus will leave at 9:05 and will return by 11:50. The children will still be able to purchase a hot lunch on that day if desired. A permission slip will be sent home soon.  Please fill it out and return it along with $6 cash by February 9 if your child plans on attending. Thanks.

Twitter
First Grade has joined Twitter! If you have an account and would like to follow us, our name is @idefirstgrade1. We will be using twitter to post pictures of activities that the students complete in the classroom as well as work. This is a great way to stay connected at home and see what your students are accomplishing!

Scholastic Books!
I have created a link on my blog to Scholastic book orders! If you are interested in ordering any books for friends, relatives, or for your student, feel free to place an order online and use the code - LVB2T. When you order online, you can shop all Book Club flyers, enter your online orders, and pay with a credit or debit card. Every time you place your order online, you earn a FREE Book Pick and I earn a $3 coupon for our classroom! 1. This happened ever first time in life that so much things are placed at single click. Yes, I am talking about this fantastic blog that is unique in its own way, by giving the plans of the whole weak and share a lot about the basic knowledge about language, grammar, best essay writing services reviews techniques and many other interesting concerns. Moreover, it’s too attractive and eye catching that someone hardly stops himself to comment.
