Week of August 27th - 31st
Welcome to Miss Beseth's Bouncin' Blog! This is where you will find all of my weekly newsletters. Each week I will post reminders, information, and notes regarding what we have completed this past week in the classroom, as well as important information that will follow in the weeks ahead! It is very important to me that parents and other family members be apart of our classroom community. I will do my best to post pictures of different activities so that you can share what your child is learning with other friends and family. I want your son or daughter to be the best student that they can be when they are in my classroom. In order for that to happen, communication between home and school is key to them succeeding. :) I encourage you to send me an e-mail, note or quick phone call with any questions or concerns regarding your student or our classroom.
Our class is off to a great start! The first few days they looked like they were ready for a nap by 12:00! A few kids were shocked when I told them that not only were they going to lunch, but that they were with me the rest of the afternoon! I got a few "sighs" and a bunch of "Hoorays!" This past week has been full of rules! We brainstormed as a class different rules that we all want to follow in order to be respectful, responsible and safe! They are as follows:
- Always raise your hand.
- Be honest.
- Keep hands and feet to yourself.
- Listen when a teacher is talking.
- Be nice to everyone.
- Always use inside voices.
Green folders
This week your student received a green take home folder. Your student will bring this folder home every day. In it you will find papers that we have completed in class, as well as notes and other information. We encourage you to look through the folder each night with your student and talk to them about what they have learned each day. Please be sure to clean out the folder and put it back into their backpack!
Behavior Chart
Each student was given a behavior chart calendar that they will keep in the back of their folder. It is important that each student bring the chart back to school every day so that they can record their behavior. I will talk more about the behavior plan and process on curriculum night!
Snack
Please continue to send a snack with your student. We have about 10 minutes for snack each day. I recommend that you keep the snack separate from the lunch (if possible) to avoid confusion. We don’t want the students accidentally eating their lunch during snack time(which happened the first day ;(). I also ask that you try to keep the snacks healthy. Some possible snack ideas include fruits, vegetables, crackers, pretzels, yogurt etc. Water bottles or juice is a good idea as well. I have granola bars at school just in case your student has forgot their snack because I would hate for them to have to wait until lunch! :)
Specials
- Gym and recess will be every day. Please make sure your student wears appropriate shoes to school. If not, please pack an extra pair of gym shoes in their backpack.
