Math

Today we took our math test on chapters 17, 18, & 19 - which were on addition and subtraction. We discussed different strategies that we can use in order to find the sum or difference. The test will be taken home on Monday for you to look it over with your student. Next week, we will begin Chapter 20, which focuses on telling time. Students will practice reading analog and digital clocks to the hour and half hour.

 

Reading Calendars
Please continue to read for 20 minutes each night with your student. We will continue to do reading calendars through the month of May, but March was the last month for pizza tickets.

Ide Open House/Book Fair

Thank you for coming to the Ide Open House/Book Fair! It was great to see everyone! The students loved showing off their different projects and various things throughout the classroom. The eggs were a huge hit - and we can't wait for them to hatch! I did want to mention a big thank you to Nicolas Clair, Matthew Chimino, Alec Steffgen, and their parents for allowing me to buy some new classroom books from the book fair! That was so generous and the students loved reading them today. :)

Chick Update
The students and I are so excited for the chicks to hatch next week! Unfortunately we can not control when those babies decide to break free! We are trying something new this year in Mrs. Micetich's - we have a webcame set up. • Reading Anthology books need to be returned to school. Please look around your house in case there is more than one. If your student has not returned the books I will be contacting parents to let them know.
