The test on these words will be on Friday, November 1st.
*Your students brought home their spelling test today - please make sure to review it with them and help them correct the words that they missed. It is very important that they study their words every night.

Math

This week we continued to work on addition and subtraction strategies - counting on, counting back, doubles plus one and doubles minus one. Next week, we will focus on ten frames and adding numbers to the number 10 (10+5=15, 10+9=19). Please make sure to review your students daily math page that is brought home.

Field Trip

Our field trip was a blast! The students loved watching the play and enjoyed listening to the different stories. A big THANK YOU to Mrs. Rossi and Mrs. Harvat for coming with us and making sure it was a great experience! :) Once we got back to school, we had a huge discussion about bullies and what to do if we see someone being bullied. Each student participated and I was so proud of the different things they had to share!

 

Halloween Party

Festivities are on Thursday Oct. 31st. The costume parade will begin at 1:40pm outside the school (weather permitting). Everyone is welcome to come and watch!  Our classroom party will begin at 2:00pm. Students should bring their costumes to school that day in a bag with their name clearly marked on it. Please try to make their costumes easy to put on over their regular clothes. Make-up cannot be applied at school and toy weapons are not allowed. Children are also not allowed to bring candy or edible treats to pass out to their classmates on this day. The students will be having a small treat and drink in the classroom during the party. Reminders/Announcements

• Box Tops - Please continue to turn in any box tops that you have at home. This is a wonderful fundraiser that helps raise money for our school. Feel free to ask aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, and neighbors! :) Classrooms with the most box tops will win a classroom party!
• Please send a note if your child will be picked up or taking another bus home.
