Math
This past week we concentrated on making a ten to add a two-digit and a one-digit numbers together. We also used tens and ones to add two, two-digit numbers together. Next week, we will continue adding two, two-digit numbers and solving word problems. We will be having our Unit 2 math test in the beginning of March so please make sure to be going over their daily math pages with them at home. Students will be getting a "study guide" for homework this week and it will need to be completed over the weekend and brought back to school on Monday, March 3rd.

Scholastic Books!
I have created a link on my blog to Scholastic book orders! If you are interested in ordering any books for friends, relatives, or for your student, feel free to place an order online and use the code - LVB2T. When you order online, you can shop all Book Club flyers, enter your online orders, and pay with a credit or debit card. Every time you place your order online, you earn a FREE Book Pick and I earn a $3 coupon for our classroom! I will be receiving flyers that I will send home within the next few weeks if you don't want to do it online. If you have an questions please let me know!

Reading Calendars
February reading calendars are due at the end of the month. Students can turn them in at the end of the week or wait until the following week in March. Happy Reading! :)

Important Dates
  • Saturday, February 22nd - Snowflake Ball
  • Thursday, February 27th - Fuzzy Friend Day
  • Friday, February 28th - No School - Institute Day
  • Friday, March 7th - End of Trimester 2
  • Monday, March 10th & Tuesday, March 11th - P/T Conferences
  • Tuesday, March 11th - Trimester 2 Report Cards Home

Reminders/Announcements
  • Box Tops - Please continue to turn in any box tops that you have at home. This is a wonderful fundraiser that helps raise money for our school. Feel free to ask aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, and neighbors! :) Classrooms with the most box tops will win a classroom party!
  • Please send a note if your child will be picked up or taking another bus home.
  • If you have any questions - please feel free to email me at alibeseth@ccsd66.org
  • Please continue to practice sight words at home. Making flash cards is a great idea and allows for fun games, like memory!
  • It's that time of year! Please make sure you are sending your student to school with a hat, gloves, and scarves! If the temperature is above 30 degrees, the kids will go outside for recess and I would hate for them to freeze. :)

I Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Miss Beseth
