Math
This past week we continued with our Geometry Unit. Students were introduced to two-dimensional shapes (circle, square, triangle, rhombus, rectangle, hexagon, trapezoid, oval, pentagon, and octagon). We discussed their attributes - how many sides they have as well as how many vertices. We will continue with our Geometry Unit and discuss how we can make new shapes using the shapes that we are given.
Blackberry Farm Field Trip
Our field trip to Blackberry Farm will be on Monday, June 2nd. If you are interested in chaperoning, please send me a note or an email. I am looking for 1-2 more chaperones. The cost is $6 for children and also $6 for each chaperone. A permission slip will go home on May 16th. You may send your money it at that time. Thank you!
Chick Unit
The past few weeks have been so fun learning about eggs, chicks, hens and roosters! Unfortunately we only had 2 chicks out of 10 hatch this year (I think I was more upset than the kids were haha). Even though we only had 2 - the students were so grateful and loved getting the chance to hold them and get their picture taken. They also brought home two pictures of the chicks today that they get to keep!
