Math

Last week we continued with Chapter 11 which introduces the order of numbers. We compared and contrasted numbers while using the words "greater than," "less than," and "is equal to." We also introduced the symbols >, <, and =. This week we will start Chapter 12. Students will be exploring higher numbers and generalizing patterns. Please make sure to review your students daily math page that is sent home.  If it is something that they struggled with - take the time to go through it and do some practice problems.

Reading Logs

The January reading logs are due this Thursday, January 31st. Students will be receiving their February reading logs later this week!

Valentine's Day Party

Our Valentine's Day party will be on Thursday, February 14th from 2:00-3:00pm. The students will pass out their valentines before the party. Please DO NOT address the valentines, just have your child sign his/her name. This makes passing them out much easier. There are currently 20 students in the classroom (10 boys & 10 girls). Thanks!

Reminders

• Please remember that recess will be outside if the wind chill is 20 degrees or warmer - students will NOT be allowed to stay inside for recess unless they have a note from your family doctor.
• Please bring in BOX TOPS :)
• If your child still has their Reading Anthology book at home, can you please have them return it by Friday, February 1st.
