Math
This past week we focused on fractions. We began looking at whole amounts and discussed ways that we could divide them into equal parts. We introduced one-half, one-third, and one-fourth. We will continue to work on fractions this week.

Reading Calendars

Please continue to read with your child every night for at least 20 minutes. March Calendars will be due on Tuesday, April 2nd, when we get back from Spring Break.

Summer Birthdays

If your child has a summer birthday, we would like to celebrate it during the school year! You do not have to send treats. I give them a special gift, and the students make them a birthday book. If you have a certain date in mind or just want me to pick a day to celebrate - just shoot me a quick email and we can plan for it! It makes them feel like they have a special day to celebrate like the other students!

First Grade Music Concert

Our 1st grade music concert was a success! Thank you to Ms. Wyse and Mr. Czyzewicz for their hard work and to the students for preparing and performing for everyone! A huge thanks to the parents as well for supporting their student!

Reminders

• Please remember that recess will be outside if the wind chill is 20 degrees or warmer - students will NOT be allowed to stay inside for recess unless they have a note from your family doctor.

• Spring pictures need to be returned this week. 

• Please bring in BOX TOPS :)

• Reading Anthology books will be sent home this week. Please make sure to return them after Spring Break - April 2nd.

• We are running low on EXPO dry erase markers (black and colored) as well as hand sanitizer. If you would like to donate some for the use in our classroom it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much for your help!
