Math
This past week we used our 100 chart to add. The hundred chart helps children see patterns that are useful for adding (and in later lessons, for subtracting). Next week, we will concentrate on making a ten to add a two-digit and a one-digit number together. We will also use tens and ones to add two, two-digit numbers together.

100th Day!
We had a wonderful 100th day of school! As a whole, our class collected 102 cans. :) I am so proud that we can donate to a food pantry to help those that are in need of food. The kids were so excited to be helping out.
Valentine's Day Party
Our Valentines Day party was a success! Thank you to Mrs. Rossi, Mrs. McGinley, Mrs. Peterson, and our room mom, Mrs. Harvat. The kids got to enjoy mini cupcakes, juice boxes, and strawberries! Everyone got to participate in a bucket toss, building candy heart towers, and using straws to carry tissue paper! Hope everyone liked the craft that each student brought home. Happy Valentine's Day!

Reminders/Announcements
- Box Tops - Please continue to turn in any box tops that you have at home. This is a wonderful fundraiser that helps raise money for our school. Feel free to ask aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, and neighbors! :) Classrooms with the most box tops will win a classroom party!
- Please send a note if your child will be picked up or taking another bus home.
- If you have any questions - please feel free to email me at alibeseth@ccsd66.org
- Please continue to practice sight words at home. Making flash cards is a great idea and allows for fun games, like memory!
- It's that time of year! Please make sure you are sending your student to school with a hat, gloves, and scarves! If the temperature is above 30 degrees, the kids will go outside for recess and I would hate for them to freeze. :)
I Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
