Week of Nov. 12th - Nov. 16th
This past week was JAM-PACKED! There was so much to get done in so little time! The students did a wonderful job on their spelling tests :) I am so proud of each student whether they are continuing to get 10/10 or whether they have greatly improved over the last few weeks. I wanted to thank all of you (parents) for the work that you are putting in at home to help them study!
There will not be a blog next week due to the two-day week and Thanksgiving Holiday. The information included in this blog for reading, spelling, and math will continue throughout the weeks of November 19th - November 30th. I hope that everyone has a wonderful and relaxing few days off with family and friends and a happy Thanksgiving!
Here are a few of our Halloween projects that we did two weeks ago:

Math
We are continuing to work on Chapter 7 which includes addition and subtraction facts to 12. After Thanksgiving Break we will finish up the chapter and take our test. We will also begin Chapter 8 which introduces graphs and how to read data. We will look at a group of objects with various attributes and sort these objects in different ways.
Word Recognition Sheet
Last week your child brought home a purple sheet in their green folder. This sheet will provide you with some additional ways to help your child practice their spelling words. It is extremely important that they are spending time outside of the classroom - and studying these weekly words. A few examples include drawing a picture of what the word means, making words out of pretzels, Twizzlers, or gummy worms, and writing their words in ABC order.

Reading Logs
Your student brought home their new November calendars so please continue to read with them at home and complete the activities. The calendar will be due Friday, November 30th.
Important Dates
- Thanksgiving Break - Wednesday, November 21st - Friday, November 23rd
- Movie Night - Friday, November 30th - Please return permission slip!
Reminders
- Please remember that recess will be outside if the wind chill is 20 degrees or warmer - students will NOT be allowed to stay inside for recess unless they have a note from your family doctor.
- Please bring in BOX TOPS :)
- Bring in a sock for math!
- Please make sure your student is either wearing gym shoes to school, or bringing an extra pair to change into. There have been lots of accidents and kids getting hurt in gym because they have boots on or inappropriate shoes. If your student does not have gym shoes they will not be participating during gym.
Thank you! Have a wonderful weekend :)
